Privacy policy

This policy explains how Little Gust and this website handle your information.

Who we are

Little Gust is published by Sunny Nagra ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Little Gust iPhone game and the Little Gust website. For support or privacy questions, email [email protected].

1. Solo play

The game stores scores, voyage progress, earned stars, settings and replay ghosts on your device. Your saved game remains on your device. In versions that offer optional play stats, summary progress is also sent to Mixpanel while “Share play stats” is enabled. Device backups you enable may include app data and are controlled by your device and backup provider.

Little Gust has no advertising or location tracking. Career versions offer optional credit purchases through Apple. Builds through 21 have no developer analytics. Versions with the “Share play stats” setting offer the optional analytics described below. You do not need a separate Little Gust account to play solo, and solo sailing works offline.

Career saves and optional purchases

Your career, skipper and boat customization, wallet, ownership and purchase-delivery records stay on your device. A device-only Keychain copy preserves career progress across an ordinary app reinstall. It does not sync to another device or survive erasing or losing the device. Other saved modes use app-local storage and may be removed when the app is deleted.

Apple processes In-App Purchases and payment information under its privacy policy. Little Gust receives verified transaction identifiers, product identifiers and purchase or revocation status so it can deliver credits once and handle refunds. These records and a random career identifier are stored locally; we do not send them, your wallet, skipper name or boat names to the crew service or Mixpanel. We do not receive payment-card details. TestFlight purchases use Apple’s sandbox and do not charge real money.

Optional play stats

Starting with build 26, “Share play stats” is on by default to help us improve the game. You can turn it off in Settings at any time. An existing choice to turn it off is preserved when you update. Builds 22–25 required you to enable sharing first. Turning it off does not affect gameplay, rewards or access to other apps.

If enabled, the app sends Mixpanel a random identifier used only for Little Gust, app and operating-system versions, device model, session timing, screens and features used, and summarized play results. These summaries can include game mode, voyage, score, stars, gate accuracy, wind and obstacle interactions, cosmetics, local race outcomes and frame timing. We also measure when you choose to open another RxV2 app’s public App Store page or our portfolio; this does not tell us whether you installed another app.

We do not send your name, email address, Game Center identity, other players’ identities, location, challenge text, shared URLs, replay recordings or individual touch movements to Mixpanel. We do not use advertising or vendor identifiers, automatic screen capture, session replay or cross-app identity matching. IP-based geolocation is disabled; Mixpanel necessarily receives network information to deliver its service. See Mixpanel’s privacy policy for its processing practices.

Turning off play stats stops future collection, clears unsent local analytics and resets the identifier for future sharing. Requests already in transit may complete. Previously sent data is not deleted by this switch. While enabled, Settings displays your Analytics ID; include it in a privacy request if you want us to locate and delete previously sent stats. Do not share that ID publicly. We retain analytics only as reasonably needed to understand and improve the game, and review the need to keep it periodically.

2. Online crews, guests and optional Game Center

You can race online as a guest without a Game Center account. The app creates a signing key in the device Keychain and derives a guest identifier from its public key. This identity may survive reinstalling on the same device; it does not sync to another device or identify a Game Center account. If you use Game Center, Apple verifies your player identity and provides optional friend discovery and native invitations.

A Little Gust service hosted on Cloudflare coordinates invitations, crew membership, Quick Race and race starts. The app refreshes your in-game inbox while in use so invitations do not depend on a push notification. The service stores your guest or Game Center identity, display name, the people you choose to invite, crew membership, race settings, compatibility versions, presence timestamps and a public verification key. It does not receive your complete friends list or friend photos. Other crew members can see your display name and joining status. The private signing key stays in your device Keychain.

Shared crews and Quick Race relay signed steering inputs, course settings, boat positions, checkpoints and results through Cloudflare to the selected racers. Race payloads are forwarded in memory and are not saved or logged by our service. A relay connection lasts at most one hour per race start. Native Game Center matches use Apple's transport. We do not publish race results to a public ranking.

Inactive crew records are removed after 24 hours without activity and inactive player profiles after 30 days. Authentication sessions expire after one hour and replay-prevention records after ten minutes. Hourly cleanup can add up to an hour before physical removal. Cloudflare processes ordinary request and network information to deliver and protect the service, as described in its privacy policy. Contact us for access or deletion requests; do not include authentication proofs or session tokens.

We do not use these identities to track you across games or send guest or Game Center identities, names, tokens or invitation contents to Mixpanel. Optional crew analytics includes only action categories, success/failure, durations and counts under the play-stats choice above. You can leave a crew, decline invitations and manage Game Center and friends access in Apple's settings. Apple handles Game Center information under its Game Center privacy information and privacy policy.

Invitation notifications and recent players

If you allow invitation notifications, the app registers an Apple push device token with our crew service. Cloudflare stores the token and runs our delivery service; Apple receives the token and notification contents to deliver the alert. Alerts include the inviter’s display name and invitation identifiers so a tap can open the right lobby. Tokens are used for this feature, not advertising or analytics. You can turn notifications off in iPhone Settings and still find invitations inside Multiplayer.

To help you invite the same people again, the crew service keeps your latest 12 distinct invitees for up to 30 days, including people who actually join your shared link. Device registrations are removed after 30 days without refresh. Pending delivery records expire with the invitation after ten minutes. Cleanup can take up to one additional hour. Contact us to request earlier deletion of information associated with your crew identity.

3. Challenges you choose to share

A score-challenge link contains game rules, a course seed, the game mode and level, control style, and the score to beat. It does not include your name or email address. You choose whether and where to share it using the iOS share sheet. The service you share through may process the message under its own policy. Little Gust reads the challenge parameters locally when a link is opened.

4. TestFlight and beta feedback

When you use a TestFlight build, Apple may collect testing, usage and crash information and share information with the developer. Feedback you choose to send may include your comments, screenshots and contact information. Apple explains this in TestFlight & Privacy. Please avoid including sensitive information in screenshots or feedback.

5. Visiting this website

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. To deliver pages and protect its network, it processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser/device information and request timing. Its handling of this information is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

We use Mixpanel to count website page views, App Store button clicks and gameplay video plays. Events include the page category, button placement and a random identifier stored in session storage for the current browser tab. Website identifiers are separate from game analytics; a download click does not tell us whether you installed the app. We do not collect URL query strings, email addresses, session recordings or advertising identifiers, and we disable IP-based geolocation. Mixpanel receives network information needed to deliver its service. We do not use analytics cookies or an account or signup database. See Mixpanel’s privacy policy.

You can disable website analytics using the control below; we save this preference in local storage. We also honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. This choice is separate from the game’s Share play stats setting. Disabling stops future events but does not delete previously sent data; requests already in transit may complete.

The scenery pause control lasts for your current page visit and is not stored as a tracking identifier. Cloudflare may use necessary security technologies if it needs to protect the site.

6. If you contact us

Beta invitation requests are sent by email. If you send an email, we receive your address and whatever you include. We use that information to respond, help with support, manage a requested beta invitation or investigate a reported problem. Email providers and Apple may process information as needed to deliver messages or TestFlight invitations. We do not sell your contact information or use an invitation request to enroll you in unrelated marketing.

We keep support and invitation correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes, applicable recordkeeping requirements and the resolution of disputes. Contact us to request deletion of correspondence we hold.

7. Your choices and requests

• You can play solo without using live racing.
• Where offered, play stats are optional. Turn sharing off in Settings and contact us with your Analytics ID to request deletion of previously sent stats.
• You can manage Game Center through your device’s Apple settings.
• Deleting the app removes app-local files, subject to your backups. The career Keychain copy can remain on that device after deletion; reinstalling resumes that career. Erasing or losing the device can remove the career and wallet. We do not keep a server copy from which to recover them.
• You control whether to share a challenge or send feedback.
• You can ask us about access, correction or deletion of personal information you have sent us. Depending on your location, other privacy rights may apply.

We may need enough information to verify a request. We cannot change or delete information that Apple or another provider controls independently; use that provider’s privacy tools for those requests. Where applicable, you may also contact your local privacy regulator.

8. Children and security

The site does not ask children to provide personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent us personal information can contact us to request its removal. Apple’s account and parental controls govern access to its services.

We use reasonable safeguards for information we handle, but no service can promise absolute security. Cloudflare, Apple and email providers may process information in countries outside your own, under their applicable terms and safeguards.

9. Policy changes

If the game or website’s data practices change, we will update this page and its date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
